Amanda's Artifact

My artifact is a pair of wired headphones. I go through new pairs often because these headphones break easily. But my very first pair came from my older sister. She was going to college and needed to buy new headphones, so she gave me this old pair, along with an MP3 player that worked with it. Ever since then, I have loved listening to music with wired headphones. I put them on when I feel sad, happy or angry, to calm myself down.

The headphones have thin, flexible wire and round, soft ear pads. The wire can bend and twist easily, and the ear pads rest gently against your ears. This represents me: I am adaptable to face different problems, and I also have a warm and friendly personality.

The headphones were originally white. I decorated them with colourful stickers. This means I may seem quiet and cool at first, but once people get to know me, they will see my bright, colourful side.

The connecting cord can get tangled easily. It represents that sometimes my thoughts can become messy and complicated. But the knots are simple to untangle, just like I can work through my troubles.

These headphones are my quiet escape. I use them to listen to music and audio stories, especially before I fall asleep. They hold so many of my feelings and memories, gifted to me from my sister. This pair of wired headphones is more than just an object; it stands for who I am.
